Sotho Music Has Never Sounded This good

 Thapelo Mofokeng ( Tshele, Momulala, Motlatla, Lekotoane)is a fast rising hip hop rapper & singer. The 21 year old began his music journey back in 2008 (bear in mind he was only 7). He started out as a back up artist for his parents, who were gospel artist back then. After a while, his parents stopped doing music and as a result, Thapelo left too - but not for long.

Thapelo ( better known as Cheez Beezy in the music game) was introduced to this sound called hip hop & he fell in love with it immediately. He look at the- then- hip-hip stars & realised that this was the life he wanted to live. But unfortunately, back then he couldn't do it as he didn't have the means & the 'know how'.

Cheez Beezy ( his studio & stage name) is a name he gave himself on his very first studio session in 2013. From his primary years, his friends & peers would call him 'cheese boy' although he didn't like the name. So while in the studio, he realised he didn't have a stage name - Until one of the guys called him 'cheese boy' . That's where the name Cheez Beezy was born.

But Cheez Beezy didn't give up - he pursued research. In 2019, he became full emerged in his passion- Music. In that same year, he set foot in a studio & started creating fire works!

Cheez Beezy's current music is in Sesotho, which is his home language. Things have not always been like that. He produced his old music on isiZulu. Thapelo spent so many years trying to fit in & find his feet within the music industry. He made his music in Zulu because he lived in an area where most people spoke Ndebela & he thought that they'd be more likely to understand Zulu.

His first song was a hip hop single called 'Ung'Charmile' . He went on to jump on the beat of 'Sponono' with Bob Mabena ( the piano artist). Bob had the hook & Cheez Beezy had the perfect message for the song. 

Cheez Beezy has been privileged to work with some of the biggest names in the games, such as RonEpidemic ( producer for the likes of Fifi Cooper & Sjava). He is has also worked with JonTy. He is currently working on a single titled 'Tsipi'. He is also working on a new surprise project for his fans- which he has not given a name.
